During Worship & Sunday School a nursery for infants and toddlers is on the first floor of the Education Building. It is staffed by a professional child-care provider who provides pagers to parents. A greeter or an usher will be happy to direct you.
The third floor of the Education Building has been transformed into a beautiful garden environment with each room uniquely designed to share the Good News in a different way. We are guiding young imaginations and teaching the Bible in a way kids can understand the Bible stories on their level.
Children 3 years-old thru 2nd grade go to Children’s Church after the Children’s Message in the Worship Service. Children’s Church is located on the Children’s Classroom wing of the 3rd Floor. Children’s Church uses Godly Play. The children come back to the Sanctuary when Holy Communion is served so they may take part in Communion.

Godly Play is the curriculum that we use for Children’s Church. The word curriculum just doesn’t do justice to what Godly Play is and does. Godly Play, through the use of handmade wooden materials, allows Bible stories to be taught or told through a discovery method similar to a Montessori Method. It uses all the learning modalities: visual (seeing), auditory (hearing), kinesthetic (moving), and tactile (touching). It is a wonderful way of telling the stories in a language children understand.
What is Godly Play? Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience through wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle, and late childhood and beyond. Come join us! Godly Play is a creative and imaginative approach to Christian nurture. Godly Play is about understanding how each of the stories of God’s people connects with the child’s own experience and relationship with God. Godly Play respects the innate spirituality of children and encourages curiosity and imagination in experiencing the mystery and joy of God. Godly Play is quite different from the traditional model in which the teacher tells the children what they need to know. Godly Play is not about things that are that simple. It is not just about learning lessons or keeping children entertained. It is about locating each lesson in the whole system of Christian language and involving the creative process to discover the depths of meaning in them.
**Children’s Worship Bulletins and crayons are also available on Sunday mornings at the sanctuary entrances. Included are Biblical word games, crossword puzzles and other activities. Children also are welcome to join their families when Holy Communion is celebrated.**
